I have both and prefer Spartons simply because I forgot the ratchet screw on the SW is a left hand to tighten thread and broke it off. Since the screw goes into the end of the winding shaft, and since I have found no way and no one who can repair that end of the armature, I now have a useless SW horn. I really can't think of another left-hand thread on the Model A but I'm certainly not that knowledgeable on Model A's so there may be one or two someplace but I'll bet they are not that small nor on such a vital part.
Thanks guys, I had forgotten that SW had the left handed threads. That is good to know. But as that goes, If they are both made by the same company, is that also true today? Or are the new ones the same internally and just differ in the data tags, etc?
Also, I don't understand this statement"but don't forget to stamp the month/year on the data tag.") Could you explain this to me, Glen? I appreciate all your responses.
I think Mike mean A&L.
