Sparky starter

I have a sparky starter off the retard lever with no foot starter.
It seems from looking at the catalogs that my starter switch is different from what is NOW sold. My switch has a solid push rod with an orange Insulated tip attached to the retard rod/sparky start apparatus. This goes through an open hole in the starter switch. The starter switch now sold pics in catalogs seems to have an integrated switch that has threads. Does anyone know if these new switches will work with what I have- pics attached

Looking at the push angle in your picture of the starter switch, I don't see how this could work. I'd ditch it and use the regular push rod and switch.

Has it ever worked? The reproduction switches work like the originals. If it worked with the old switch you have pictured it should work with the new ones. You would just have to remove the push rod from the new one unless there is something different where the sparky start pushes on the internal part of the switch.

Yes, This switch (and the starter) have worked without fail (or repair) since the car was acquired by my GrandMother in 1963 then passed onto my father in early 70s and to me a few years ago.

It looks like you need to disassemble the new switch, remove the threaded rod and use the solid push rod with an orange insulated tip.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but are the Sparky Starter units worth thinking about installing? I could see where they would be a real advantage when trying to start on a hill. Does anyone have some good pros and cons?

If it's worked since 1963, it must have something going for it. If you like it, I'd do as 160B suggested and put it on the new switch.
