Spark Plugs

Called several places about the NGK B6L, and refers the vendor to the Autolite 216's, but I have located both. As for as where they are made, China or Mexico, maybe my ignorance, but I would believe that we have them made with our spec's accordingly and that the fact they are produced in those country's was from a labor rate standpoint, I would like to believe the materials are the same, China gets our steel etc.

The real blame for anything in the state of mess, is the American greed on the company's behalf, and the fact that it's a publicly traded company on the stock exchange, no profit, no gain, no dividend, hense doesn't go up nobody buys....on and so on it goes, we sold out and those that have the kind of money we can't even dream about just seem to never have enough and just want more and more right up to the day they die...

I realize, I got a bit off the beaten path, my apologies.

so gap them at manafactures specs? what about torque on the aluminum head as opposed to stock heads? I will try the NGK B6L for the hotter spark.

Back in the mid 80's I had a vehicle with Champions. It was lackluster, so I replaced the plugs with another set of Champions. Made no difference so I replaced the Champions with NGK's. Wow!. Smoother, more power.... I was hooked. I've used them ever since and never had a bad one.

Yes,i think NGK will be the way to go on the plugs, thanks to all that responded,i do think that the torque is 15lbs for aluminum heads, but i will check to make sure. Its weird how NGK say the gap is different then the ford specs.ANy advice on that?

The last Autolite 216s I bought were made in China, and are total junk. The center electrodes on 5 out of 8 were crooked, with the ground electrodes "bent" to match the centers. I'll stick with NGK B4Ls.

Any plug but a Champion.Just for trivia's sake, did you guys know that Albert Champion founded both AC and Champion?
