spark plug wires

I hate to agree with Mr.Kube, but I also never use any aids to put spark plug wires in conduit tubes. Also I place the longest wire first, and the shortest one last.On removing wires from conduit tubes I remove the shortest first, and the longest one last.I have never had a problem even when the generator and the distributor wires have to go in the left hand conduit with the spark plug wires. E.P.W.

Even though my wires are a larger diameter than stock I was able to install all the plug wires no problem, it wasn't until I added the coil wire that I had to use Vaseline.

PS. You shouldn't hate to agree with Kube, he's pretty knowledgable about these old cars. LOL

Yep I would think a personal lub would work great and won't harm rubber. It will also work for tight heater and radiator hoses and I for sure would not use any Silicone anywhere around a car or anything else I plan or would want to paint. It would be fish eye city if you did. Old paints had a fish eye eliminator you could use but not supposed to use it in the newer paints.

I know many will say I overstuffed my tubes but I fit 7MM wires along with the coil wire through my tubes. (My coil is mounted on my firewall) I used Vaseline and pulled with an electrical wire that I fed through with a long zip tie. I also ran my temp sending wires through the front of engine and back to other side to clean up the looks of the engine. Most of this was after thought and the first four wires per tube where fairly easy, my plug wires were not cut to length and came without ends and gave me the option to turn the wires so all the ends looked the same and the manufacture writing is in the same spot on each one.
I went through a lot of trouble for this small detail and not one person has ever noticed yet!

Nice looking engine, I like your fuel lines from the carbs, I've never run a hood on my 40 either, Of course my 40 is channeled and the hood would hit the radiator. Walt

Thanks Walt, I keep saying I'm gonna put the hood on, but I like the looks off. I just hope the paint don't fade and the hood won't match. I used brake lines for my fuel, I didn't want the same looks as alot of folks who bought theres from vendors. I cut and threaded my throttle linkage to look stock too. No one has noticed yet.

YEA but how does it know if it is suspose to STOP or GO ????

WD 40 stands for "Water Displacement formula 40". It is not a lubricant. Also if you are going to use silicone then heaven help you if you have to paint anything in that area as it is a cause of "fish eye" in the finish coat.
