Spark plug life?

[MurphyJ]

Curious to know what other model a owners feel is a reasonable life time in miles for a set of spark plugs.
Realizing that today's more modern engines do by their design get incredible spark plug life while the model a engines are much different in so many ways. Just curious.
Thanks for your experience.

I don't know how many miles but probably quite a few. The reason that we get more miles out of spark plugs now is because of unleaded fuel. We don't see hard carbon deposits like we use too . We now mostly see black soot if the heat range is to cold or the coil doesn't put out enough voltage . A new set of Champion W 18 plugs may last nearly a lifrtime in a model A .
