Spark Plug Collection

I've heard that to some, period spark plugs are "all the rage". So I decided to dig some out of the piles of old parts and was wondering if there's anything in this assortment worth saving or cleaning up. I also have more AC spark plug boxes. The Titan spark plug is still sealed.

Not being original 3X plugs (the one 3X is a reproduction) there's not a lot of value there, unfortunately. I have a box of "crash test dummy" plugs that are very similar. They are my test subjects for restoration to try out new ways of cleaning up 3X plugs...but not potentially damaging original 3X plugs in the process.

For what it's worth, this entire box of plugs, if restored, might bring $25 on a good day. :(

Good to know. I hadn't heard of the Champion 3 com before and I'm okay with the fact that the 3x plug is a repro. Especially since they run at $45 a pop :)

I was interested in the double electrode one. Thought it was a unique little gimmick.

Dual ground strap plugs were thought to last longer than single strap plugs. No other advantage, and even that one is questionable.

Please don't pay $45 for 3X Champions. You can get them for less than $30 from Rock Auto.

I have some Montgomery Ward plugs that look real similar to Champion 3X.Kind of neat to collect different plugs.

I purchased some more modern 14 mm AC spark plug prototypes with a dual grounding electrodes off of ebay a few years ago from a retired AC spark plug engineer. They're pretty unique. I've never seen a Montgomery ward spark plug before. I didn't know they existed!!!
I currently have a set of Firestone brand spark plugs in my Model A and they work just fine!!!
