Spark Adjustment Rod on motor

Probably an odd question. Is a spark adjustment rod touching the motor head a problem? Should seem a problem transferring hear to the distributor.
 
I don't think there's a concern in that unless it is rubbing so hard as to cause problems with the advance. Mine was touching the block also until I bought a new rod and arched it slightly to miss the right side of the head. I may also have bent the connector ball on the column to give more clearance. One thing is sure, it doesn't look good scraping the head.
 
Right hand drive cars have a much nicer set up on the advance rods .as well as the gas adjusting and choke valve
