Hi Fordbrainers

Anyone have a source for 60 cam bearings. I have an original Clay Smith 60 cam that has had the bearing journals turned .010 under. So I need a .010 O/S cam bearing. The greenbook shows either a 022A - 6261-C which is std., or a 6261-D which .040 O/S. I am guessing that Clay wouldn't have turned it .010 under if only Std & .040 O/S were available. Tried Fred at So Side, and Stacy at Antique in TX, no luck so far. Did not get to Ron at Dennis Carp NOS, or Jim at Ford Spec Parts in CA yet. Any other ideas ? May have to regrind U/S to match what's out there. Appreciate the help as usual.

We have the 022A cam bearings with the "D" suffix which are .040" oversize on the journals.

Isn't that .040 oversize in the block ---std for the cam ?, 1.64"od --is what my 28-37 parts book(printed 1945) lists 022A6261-D as being

022A6261-C is listed as 1.060" od (std block, std cam

When I have needed "un-obtainium" bushings I have made them, some I have made of flat brass sheet and formed them, bored them ,reamed, or honed and sometimes "tinned" them with babbitt, for others I have bought "cored rounds" and turned them on the lathe --or bored them on the bridgeport

Try Chuck Kuntz on here in Altoona,Pa .He might have a set. ken ct.

Your 040 oversize description is correct....larger block bores. I described them incorrectly.

I got a set of .010 oversize OD cam bearings for the regular flathead from H-H only the father knew where they was. Don't know if he has anything for the 60hp but worth a call. Walt

Thanks fordbarners for the info on the 60 cam bearings. The green book says -D is .040 O/S but is not clear on OD or ID. Will check with H&H also. Good ideas on making your own.
To clarify my need, a .010 ID over size cam bearings for a 60 with .010 U/S camshaft bearing journals.
