So Done with Winter

9.30PM on the 7th here and it is 25.7 C (78+F). The more brave weather forecasters are saying that this year, we may not even get a day above 40C (104F) this summer for the first time in years. No complaints here!

50's yesterday and 60's today................

no complaints here in NJ!

where we have a Wawa on every corner! :)

I will take your snow over my wind any day. It's been ridiculously windy here almost every day.

As I write this, average winds around 30 MPH with gusts almost 50 MPH. The power keeps going ON/OFF so I cannot work in the shop for fear of losing the lights right in the middle of something important and being stuck (no windows in the shop, gets very dark with no lights).

Also, the noise the wind makes is pretty eerie. Cannot sleep soundly while wondering if the antenna farm outside is being ripped apart.

Now I see why Interstate 95 is filled with cars with Canadian tags.

Like Mike V. said, in Florida we salt Margaritas, NOT roads.......

Was +2 degrees on my way to work this morning. Foggy, but no more snow (yet).

We didn't even have a quarter inch of precipitation overnight, and in the first two hours this morning there was already 5 rollovers and numerous accidents. People drive like nuts.

You forgot about the Large Goose Statue at Wawa that can be seen for miles. The Goose is just off the Trans-Canada Highway" at the Tourist Information Centre on the way into town.

For those outside New Jersey, WaWa is a convenience store. Sells coffee, donuts, sandwiches, papers, etc. They are practically on every corner, except when its occupied by a 7-11.

Tomorrow it's supposed to be 60 degrees here. But they're calling for 6 - 10 inches of snow on Thursday. I guess that makes both Punxatawney Phil and Staten Island Chuck correct!

41 degrees C (106F) here in Adelaide today. I think I'll leave the A tucked away and stay in the air cond comfort at work.

I've noticed just on this thread, many of Australian Barners from various parts of Australia. Any Barner here from "A Town Like Alice". ;)

You really want to be in Alice (Springs) today? Here's a map of today's expected max temps around the eastern part of Oz.

Heat wave!!!! 35C in Alice, a wee bit warm..............:D I spent two weeks in Portugal a few years back, 42C and no AC for the first week there. That was a wee bit warm too!!!!!

Pretty colored map! Isn't there an area that people live under ground?

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology had to add two extra colours (the purples) to the temperature maps in the last few years because we'd exceeded the historical maximum levels! We'd run off the scale! Evidence (but not proof of course) that climate change is real. ;)

(Relevance to the Model A: I still need to fix my radiator leak!)

Coober Pedy is the place you're thinking of. An opal mining town - closest thing we've got to your Wild West. Underground houses allow you to stay out of the heat and you can dig up opals as you add a room!
