I am new to owning a flathead motor and was hoping to find some reputable mechanics in the So Cal area. I know there is always H&H but there kinda far away from me and a little more then I am looking to spend. Thanks Tom

Hi Tom
Welcome to ford barn.
You do not say where you are in So Cal.
You might try Richard Lacy's Early V8 Garage in West Covina.
He is also a member here on the barn.
Bruce

Works good
Lasts long time

Does So Cal mean Bakersfield or San Diego? What kind of work do you need, an engine rebuild or a tune up and a brake job?

So Cal covers a lot of territory... From Santa Barbara to the Mexican border..
If your planned repairs to an Early Ford V8 are price driven, you are going to get just what you paid for... Keep in mind.. 'The bitter taste of poor quality lingers long after the sweet taste of a low price'...

thanks for the replys guys. I am on the Orange County Area. I am just trying to get my car road worthy until I have the dough to do a full scale rebuild. She is already a runner but needs a few things done to make it freeway worthy. I have a 24 stud flatty that I think just needs a rear main seal replaced and possibly some work on the banjo rear end. thanks for the help Bruce I will check Lacy's out.

Welcome to the barn. Get in touch with the boys @ CWMoss in old town. You may also wish to do car shows & talk to folk about getting help. Donut Derelics in Huntington Beach on sat morning (best get there early) is also a good place to find help.

Do not go to CWMoss. Their parts are too expensive however the bald guy behind the counter is very knowledgeable. Check TAYLOR ENGINES in Whittier. Guys are a little hard to talk to but have been around forever. The guys at the EARLY FORD STORE in San Dimas are good guys and might have more options. I repeat though, dont go to CWMoss. You will be greatly disappointed.
