Snyder's steps up to the plate

During a recent post I complained about how bad Denman tires are and how the set I had were bald after only 1500 miles. Well today I received a call from Snyder's Model A parts and we reach a happy solution. Although not directly responsible for Denman’s quality control they stand behind what they sell.

make sure your alignment is not out or front end problems. that could be one reason why they went bald. kudos to snyders because they really did'nt have to do that.

Back around 1987 when I got my Ford out of storage and got serious about restoring it, I thought I'd finesse the carburetor issue and shelled out the big bucks for a brand new Tillotson carb from Snyders. Well, alas, it leaked from the get-go. I didn't feel like fighting with it--that's why I bought a new one--so it sat around for quite awhile. Eventually, I was placing an order for some other stuff and happened to mention the leaky carb; without hesitation I was told to send it back. I did, and got a full refund. They had my loyalty.

Years ago I lived in New Brighton, Pa, not to far from Old Man Snyders (shop) I called him to find out if he had .080 over pistons in stock. He said yes and if I came then he would open for me. (It was Sunday) I drove over and we had a GOOD TIME. He showed me his seat spring set up and his old T that was all apart. That was the start for me, cause any one else would have had me come during my work hours, and I was not able to take the time off. Been my kind of place ever since. That was in the early 60s. they still have enough horse sense to realize that good customer service and satisfaction such as what they extended to you just got more good advertising and continued loyalty than they could have bought.

For what is worth, you may or may not know that Denman Rubber Co is no more. They were in Youngstown, OH and went bankrupt. The equipment was all sold at auction. Unless the new owners of the tooling/molds/etc. decide otherwise, there will be no more Denman Model A Tires.

I too have purchased from Snyder's and they have bent over backwards to get me the info and parts that I needed. I shop with Berts a lot and get the same kind of service.
We are lucky to have such good suppliers, In the sixty's when dad was doing some resto work you didn't just open your catalog and 4 days later u received a package on you porch.

Snyders is number one for my repro model A parts. Not only do the have the quickest shipping, they also make and provide the Best parts.

Of topic a little but does anyone remember Snyder's little letter in every issue of Hemmings? I thoroughly enjoyed reading what was going on every month. Now with the internet we read what is going on every day.
