You may have noticed odd behavior on the Snyder's website:
- Some parts are not showing up in certain searches
- Direct links to part pages don't work
Searches
At the moment, the website has a bug in the search function: if a part's catalog entry is blank for "Model year," then if you limit your searches to "Model A" parts only, the part won't show up in the search. For example, the radius ball shim washer (A-3440-W) will only appear if you search for "3440" with "Both Models" selected. Snyder's is aware of the problem.
Direct links
Snyder's appears to be blocking "deep links," meaning links that go directly to a product page, under some conditions that aren't totally clear. I've found that clicking on Snyder's links here on FordBarn usually does not work. I get an "Authorization Required" error. The error seems to be connected to the referrer header, which is metadata your browser sends with the link telling the destination site what page you were on when you clicked the link. Links from Google search seem to work.
As a workaround, if you have Chrome, you can install an extension like Referer Control. This allows you to fake the referrer header so that the Snyder's website will think you're already on the site when you try to navigate to the product page. This appears to have solved the problem for me.
