Snortin' and a Poppin

First I would like to thank everyone who has ever responded to my "T" issues in the past. As I have wrote in the past I am BRAND NEW with a Model T and learning alot as I go. Even with the "T" manual I still find it necessary to get advice from an "expert" who has hands on experience. My new issue is the T idles perfect (finding it's Sweet Spot) and runs great in low gear. After picking up speed and shifting into high gear the engine starts to what I refer to as "Snort and Pop" to where I can't drive in high. I have gone through the carb numerous times. It has the original coil box 6 volt system. I have checked all the contact points for the electrical. Once again any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Picture a 3 speed stick... idling away in first gear, then shifting into 2nd too soon and she starts bucking... like that? You need more speed out of low gear then shift. You may need to move the spark lever up a bit (retard it), then advance as speed pics up. Are you able to run it on the MAG? Theres a million (well maybe 2 million) scenarios that can cause this... fuel supply, and ignition carry a million each... ws

Thank you for the response. I have 100% ruled out the gas flow/fuel system. I will try retarding the spark a little in high gear to see if that solves the problem. Yes, it does run on mag or battery. Process of elimination I guess. Once again thank you for your knowledge.

The coils are a good place to continue checking/eliminating causes for your problem AND it needs to be done any way. New capacitor's, cleaned or new points and a proper set-up on a Strobo Spark or HCCT is really a must.
