I had to clean and reset the contacts in the ******** unit that interrupts the low tension circuit to generate the sparks in the high tension circuit. The canister housing the ******** contained an inert gas plus foam rubber insulation. Over time this inert gas escapes. The foam natural rubber decomposes releasing sulphur dioxide from the vulcanising. Both these corrode the contacts.
I have 2 units. Both work after "servicing" the contacts ( cleaning and then tweaking and generally messing about with them until they vibrate). Howeved, after a long time sitting, they again corrode and have to be messed about with again to get them to vibrate.
I have 2 units and they contain 2 different models of ******** with different contact arrangements. Both work but only one has the flash tube. I have not found a source for new flash tubes, but there is a solid state replacement for the vibrators that might work.
The vibrators were used in old car radios to generate the high voltages needed for valves to work.
Here is the instructions.
I will post a video of my unit working as soon as I get time to work out how to do that.

Oops I see that my tester instructions show a different number from your unit. They look the same though. My units are the same model as yours though. I hope this helps
