Smoothing out the tail

I have a 36 coupe and I may be out of place here, but I like the smooth tail on the '35/'36 coupes, achieved by removing the spare tire holder. Without getting in to body work and paint correction, what have others done to hide the holes leftover after removal? Any license plate relocation options that cover these holes? I may be out of luck, but wanting to explore this before I accept that it's there for good.

Thanks in advance

I sometimes fill holes like this with paintable clear silicone water-based latex caulk. Smooth and feather it in and around the hole with a wet fingers till it's flush with the surface. Let it dry/cure clear for a day or so. Usually leaves a slight depression when dry. This depression can be filled with repeated dabs of touchup paint till it's just about flush with the surface again. Hardly noticeable even if the paint isn't an exact match. If you don't like it, you can easily go back to the way it was.
