Sleeving Cylinders

I have a block that has already been sleeved, and a couple of the cylinders do not look that good due to pitting. A question that I hope can be answered, can the sleeves be removed and therefore have new sleeves fitted? The block otherwise looks good.

Depending on the quality of the original sleeve job, you can go out to at least .080" with a sleeve. I have an engine that has been sleeved, and subsequently bored out again to .080". Sleeves can be machined out and another sleeve fitted by a competent machine shop.

Hello Paul:
Yes they can be removed and replaced.
Hopefully the block hasn't been bored out to the max for the exisiting sleeves.
In America there are two different sizes for the cylinder sleeve depending on what size you intend to go with the finished hole.

Just make sure the machine shop doing the work leaves a step at the bottom of the cylinder for the sleeve to stop on.
I see many blocks that have been sleeved without the step and eventually the sleeve starts to walk.
