Slant window cabriolet parts
Hey guys... this is just a notification of availability... A fellow "A"'er friend here in the St. Louis area has some slant window cabriolet top irons and header piece cover on ebay, closing tomorrow night. I have a parts body unit available that is missing what he has.... that I would sell. It's an opportunity to find all the parts within close proximity of one city... for a potential project. Just throwing this out....

Hope I haven't overstepped the bounds of the site here.. just wanting to inform of a possibility to someone... just know that the window for getting one person getting both closes tomorrow night. Yes, it would be a project... but definately do-able! Drop me a PM if interested.

Parts Body unit that I have $3,200

Bill,
The header top is slant window.. as I compared it to mine directly that came off my car.... side by side. I didn't put any ebay info ( item # , etc...with the except noting it was there. At this point it would be a "service" to a restorer of interest. I don't think it's any different than the guys who list cast iron brake drums and transportation services.. inf fact... i think this is of more value as it is a hard to obtain/restoration type piece other than generic parts and services that can be obtained other places. That's what "Fordbarn" should be about.

It's not like any of the ones I have and have worked on. Looks like the top studs mount from the bottom. All 68c and 400 I have seen go in from the front on the header bar.Maybe some difference in early and late?!!
Every68b is like the one pictured may not make any difference??????

I agree with Bill. The top window molding in the listing "top rail assembly" is for a 68B not a 68C. The C is quite different and has a more complex profile then the one listed. I'm not commenting on the top piece with the studs only the molding. The first picture is a 68C and the second is a 68B. The interior upper window molding on the 68B is like the one listed on auction.

For those restoring either model it's very useful to know what to look for if these parts are missing. To my knowledge they are not being reproduced.

I have a 1930 68B that is missing these parts, meaning the topwindshield molding and the metal part that holds the wood header piece. I dont know where I can get these or where I can find good pictures with dimensions or drawings to even attempt to reproduce. Any help on this would beapprrciate

At the present time I reproduce the door garnish moldings for 68A-68B and they are hard to tell from original. I'am in the process of developing the reproduction of the windshield header molding. One more die perfection and I will have it. If there is anyone interested in purchasing one I would appreciate it letting me know as to what the demand will be. If I get a good responce I will proceed with the development. I can be contacted through Ford Barn or email (adukecav@aol.com) .
Thank You
Tony
