Slant Window 160B Rear Seat

Question: That hardware (brackets, wood frame, etch) is needed to install the rear seat? (Pictures appreciated)
Problem: I am restoring a 1931 Slant Window Town Sedan that was a barn find. The original seats were not part of it and Jeep seats had been welded into the front and rear. I cannot find any photos on the internet and part catalogs don't show it.
Thanks for the help, Stew Wade

I'm in the middle of mine, putting in the dome light this week end, would love to see some pics of the wood mount placement and mounting hardware.
Have a new wood mount and original light...now where exactly does it go and how does it mount up?

Hey Guys,
This is the same Model A that I am restoring. Not nearly as far along as you guys. If you have photos to share, would you mind including me. My body came with absolutely nothing on the inside. Nothing at all. I have not idea where to begin.

Any help you can share would be most welcome.

Thanks,

John

I am currently working on the chassis. I have separated the body from the chassis. I have hung the body from the ceiling of my garage. This allows me to move the chassis freely on dollies. I recently was able to mount the engine onto the frame, so the drive train is complete. I am working on wiring on the engine compartment. I am going to sub out the body. It is in bad shape, heavily rusted. Sometime this Spring I am hoping to get it worked on. I hope the get the engine to turn over this summer. Then I have to spend a boatload adjusting the brakes.

Lots done, but even more to get done.

Thanks,

Richard & others, congrats on finishing the 160B. I know how I felt when I finished my Deluxe Coupe. My body man and I have just about finished the body, just have the cowl patch panels and header section to go. I have a great metal front seat and will purchase the wooden frame, seat springs and back rest springs from a supplier. However, I have no idea about the rear seat, back rest and arm rests. Any pictures or instructions would be appreciated.

Steve at Bert's, thanks for specific info on rear seats. Just subscribed to your website. I visited your shop in 2014 during my western tour and picked up several parts and enjoyed talking with you.
Sincerely, Stew Wade

Buy a rear seat frame kit, and arm rest frames from your favorite wood dealer.

Adjusting brakes won't cost you anything...but you will be spending a boat load on rebuilding/repairing/replacing the brake system.

My brake system has already been rebuilt/repaired/replaced. I have a rolling chassis. Drive train and been installed. Steering is being rebuilt. I am working on the engine wiring.

Easy way for pics:
Click the "blue post reply" lower left bottom of page, when text box opens, in the top middle of the bar you will see a "paperclip" click that, a window will open "manage attachments" click "choose file" then pick your picture, after you picked up to seven pics click the top "upload" on the right hand side of the text box, wait for it to upload.
You must type something, anything into the text box message, scroll down to see "preview post" at bottom of your text box, you should see your message as it will appear when you post, if you like it click "submit reply" to post.

I have the same side arm rests, also have a center arm rest.
Looks like the dome light wood mounts all the way back from the last roof rail to the body rail.
If it goes in like my pics could you get some pics of the mounting?
It looks like some sort of mount/bracket was on the bottom section, I figure some short straps on top each corner?
Yes/no?

Check with Bert's or Snyder's for the seat springs. Le Baron Bonney, Cartouche, Classtique, etc. for upholst. kits if that's your direction taken.. My experience is that Cartouche padding is sometimes too thick on the door panels for the window cranks, etc. so ask those type of questions. Perhaps others on this site will add input. There are 2 small wood blocks in the back of the rear floor in the 160 B for the seat bottom to rest against.
