sketch light switch needed

Hi guys,

can anyone post or send a link to a sketch showing how the light switch is built up? I think my light switch fell apart and i can't figure out how to assemble it again.

Thanks in advance...

This link is for the complete electrical system and has photos of the different light switches made over the 4-year span. A lot depends on how far apart the unit is currently. The switch plate has tabs that have to be bent back to remove it so they may break off. The rotating piece is swaged in so that may not come out well if attempting to remove it.

Thanks, quite helpful.
I think our light switch just fell apart, the rotating bit is in pieces. I assume the crimp on the little ring failed…

I had a lot of trouble with currently manufactured light switches; even when brand new, the fit was poor thin sheet and they didn't last long.
I then bought a used original switch from the US; it was grubby, but mechanically it had a really solid, crisp action.
It’s been installed for five years/6,000 miles now—no issues at all.
