Hi guys. I’ve managed to find some time to try and finish the final items to get my roadster ready for registration. It was easy to remove all the fuel with the electric pump, and then clean both fuel filters. The engine fired straight up with some fresh fuel. It’s running a bit rough, maybe some old fuel gum in the 2 new ( 3 years old) strombergs. I’m hoping it will sort out once it’s on the road.
I had to install an earth wire at each signal light to get them to work. It had me scratching my head, but just too much paint on the brackets to get a ground.
So my last issue tomorrow is to get the horns working. They both work when grounded to earth. I’m expecting the fault will be in the carbon brush in the end of the light switch rod. Dan

I ran into this last year and found that before I was using a paper filter and a glass bowl, that tiny rust particles had accumulated in my '97 bowls.

I had to install an earth wire at each signal light to get them to work. It had me scratching my head, but just too much paint on the brackets to get a ground.

I've found that just reseating the metal bucket for the switch has returned horn function. Taking it off and cleaning up the contact is a good idea.
