Signal 900 does not lock firmly into the hazard warning lights.
I bought an almost 70-year-old, shabby 900 indicator/hazard warning light switch on eBay USA. It was very resinous on the inside, rusted and the cable insulation was crumbly. Cleaned in ultrasound with brake cleaner, rotating narrow brass brush, greased without acid and new cables soldered on. Polished on the outside.
The switch is very interesting and robustly constructed.
What doesn't work properly is that when you pull out the angled tongue for the hazard warning function, it doesn't lock into place, but instead snaps back to "off" when you let go. If I snap the indicator lever to the left, then pull out the hazard warning tongue and put the indicator lever back in the middle, the hazard warning lights stay on. But you need two hands from the outside for that.
I disassembled the switch several times, adjusted the tension on the small springs a little, but couldn't find a solution.
Does anyone know this problem?
