Signal Stat / LED question

I am thinking about adding a bulb or two to my directionals UNDER the dash to add load to the turn signals when I replace my stock taillites with LEDs, yet keeping my beeping flasher on my Signal Stat 900 system.
My present beeping flasher, purchased from Gene Bunce, does not flash with the LEDs.
I figure a bulb in the dash will be another reminder of the signals being on in addition to permitting me to use the LED taillites.
Any suggestions on a unit to hold the bulbs?
If I tap into the cowl lamps in series, will this cut my cowl light output in half?
Thanks.

If you're really set on adding a lamp, you should be able to pick up a small plastic "projects box" from Radio Shack or another local electronics supplier. These range in size from about as small as a garage door remote to breadbox size. You could stick it up under the dash with Velcro with just the lamp peeking out.

Is there some reason not to just add a resistor as a load? That's what I did and it's right by the flasher under the seat so there was no need to run extra wires...

Bruce, do a "search" on flasher and you'll see Tom Wessenberg's reply on how to make your own flasher out of a relay,a resistor and a capacitor. By adjusting the values of the resistor/capacitor you can fine turn the flashing rate.

If you are using your cowl lights for turn signals also----brattons sells a heaver bulb for them that will make them work.
