Side Curtains

While at Hershey last fall, I was lucky enough to pick up a new, in the box, set of LeBaron Bonney side curtains for a 28-29 Roadster. They were the right color for my 31 Canadian built Standard Roadster and the price was right so I bought them in hopes that I could modify them if necessary to fit my car. The 2 irons for the curtains were also in the box along with a couple of packages of fasteners. The only thing missing is instructions. I started laying the items out today and test fitting them to my car. To my surprise, they came very close to fitting my car which is unexpected since I had modified the new 30-31 standard top, that I bought a couple of years ago from Classtique. Apparently the top frames on the Canadian built cars have a few differences from the US built cars and were a carry-over of the 28-29 type top. It looks like I will have to add/move/change a few of the fasteners especially on the windshield post. Also, I will have to repair the driver's door where the curtain iron fits in. A previous owner/body man must have repaired some of the reinforcing metal in the door in this area and i have ended with a round hole istead of the flat sided hole required by the side curtain rod. All of these problems, I believe can be resolved. What I am not sure of is the mounting of the two 4 1/2" x 25" pieces of trimmed fabric that are included in the kit. Would they be a sort of "draft excluder" that would fasten to the top frame and overlap the side curtain? If so, I have 2 question: 1-Do these items end up hanging inside or outside of the curtains? 2-How do they fasten to the top frame. I see one original fastener stud on the outside of each top frame just back from where it is fastened to the windshield post. If this is the proper location, what is the purpose of having one fastener in this location? Is is necessary so it can be unfastened when folding the top. Any help, sugtgestions, pictures will be appreciated.

Sorry, I was wrong on the type and location of the front stud. It is on the front of the windshield. There is also a male murphy fastener on the top frame just about where the material in question end above the rear of the door. Does this make sense?
