side curtain fastener

In my shopping at the Big 3 Swap Meet in San Diego, I found a box of various fastners that I will use on my side curtains on my RPU. All for $5.00!

Just registered. Made a post and won't be up until reviewed I guess. If this "Quick Reply works though, watch for my post for those fasteners later on.

UPDATE - I tried to Quick Reply the links and got a "needs approved" error again, so you'll have all kind of links to those fasteners when all clears. (assuming "this" quick reply edit goes thru...)

Have a Good One

UPDATE AGAIN - I'm not going to let this get me. I assume the link I posted triggered the audit of my posting, so just follow the instructions below.

OK, do this. Go to Snyders antique auto.
Look for the Product Search box and type BODY SOCKET for the part that goes onto the body.
Then SIDE CURTAIN FASTENER for the part that goes on the curtain.
Part #s are respectively A-37101-USA
and A-37105 or A-37105-x (one is crimped on and the other uses prongs.

HOLD ON TO YOUR POCKET BOOK. I NEED 4 ON EACH SIDE AND THEY ARE 13 BUCKS EACH...

Mac's has repos of those fasteners. They are UF40 and there is a tool to install them. The tool is UF40T. The price for the UF40 is $8. I ordered one with the tool, but when I installed it, the little gizmos that pop out to grip the body socket fell out. I worked for over an hour but could not figure out to put them back in. So I ordered another with an order for some other stuff. When I finally got my order (Mac is soooo slow) they had sent me a package of hog rings. The package was labeled UF40 with the proper description, but it was filled with 50 hog rings. So I called customer service, but the lady did not know what a hog ring was or a UF40. I had to show her in the catalogue what they were. They are sending me a UF40 according to the email I got yesterday. I hope it isn't more hog rings.

I purchased side curtain fasteners from Snyders A-37105-X, these have fold down tabs like lift-the-dots. No tools reqired other than a pointed knife. (easy to fit) Also if they fail it will be easyer to replace.
I also replaced some body sockets with the US made ones A-37101-USA (worth the extra $)
When fitting the side curtains to the pickup the fasteners went into the USA sockets a lot easer

It's the next day and I see my post with links hasn't been approved and posted yet. We got past that glitch anyway.

Anyway, Yes, I saw the "tab" type fasteners and decided, no tools needed and maybe reusable if the tabs hold up??

Well, I filled the form out to place the order for 8 A-37105-X for a total of $102. Then the shipping cost appeared. Keeping in mind that these would nearly fit and ship in a common mail envelope, I figured 3 or 4 bucks would get them here to Pa. from Ohio. (bordering zone UPS) Right? Not, they wanted over $15. I did not complete the order and sent them an email, questioning the above.

I didn't see them at the Macs website. Did see the tool. I must check them out more thoroughly

I saw the UF40 on Macs but unfortunately they don't have the "tab" version. Guess I'll wait to see what Snyder's says. They got me by the xxLLs I guess...
