I've just installed new glass in my windshield frame.
Should the "extra" rubber bedding material that protrudes outside the frame edge be trimmed to the level of the frame?
It seems to me that given that the bedding rubber is not tight against the glass outside the frame, water would have an easier time getting into the assembly than if the bedding rubber was trimmed.
Also, if the bedding rubber IS trimmed, should a thin bead of silicone be applied along the resultant edge?
