Shocks

Whats going on here, I'll never be able to top the shock up like this.
Its the rear drivers side.

Rob:
The shock is upside down. It could be a Right Front where it should be a Left Front or a Right Rear where it should be a Left Rear. The performance of the shock will not be correct either. Think shock and rebound ratio.

This is the passenger side rear.

The back side of the shocks should be marked to indicate the proper location.

Just hammer an indent, to get at the filler plug (EASY!)

The body has settled, or the subframe is rusted out, use a pry bar to gain some clearance

I`m with Kurt the body is to low. or someone installed the inner panel to low. the shock is a reproduction and it is installed correct.

Okay, thanks for replies. What oil can you use to top up the shocks?

Shock oil or hydraulic jack oil.

You can just unbolt it from the frame to fill it up. No need to bend the body work. Jeff

Maybe that body style needed body blocks to fit right.

if newer repop shock, it may not take or need oil. Some repops can't be filled and can leak

I managed to unscrew the bung nearly to the end, then a bit of prying to get it out. Couldn't see a drop of fluid in either rear shocks, now both toped up.

Most likely they will leak right out again,
