Leaking and poorly functioning shocks have forced me to start rebuilding my houdailles. My front two are done, ( no leaking), and am glad I don't do this for a living. The back two are a different story. These were rebuilt approx 5 years ago by someone here in Southern California, and don't know any more details than that. One of the wing shafts I think is a repro, it has NO port holes drilled to the adjustment valve chamber. The other has the port holes, but is filled with a resin compound. This obviously renders the adjustment valve usless. Can someone explain what the point of this is? Or was this just a quick and dirty practice for rebuilding shocks?
