shock arm interchange??

I'm in the early stages of mocking up a rolling bones style front end and want to use the original shocks in their original position, I can build a mount for the ball end on the new shackle location or I thought maybe the shock arms were interchangeable for a couple years and just maybe some are a little longer and could be massaged to line up with the original perch balls ??? I'm about 3" shy with the orig. arms and too far inside due to the frame pinch. Anyone know what year may interchange and be long enough ? Thanks in advance for any help. Here's a couple pics. hope they show up alright.

Rear shock arms are longer, have you tried looking in the "green book" it has pictures of 28-48 parts with measurements for things like shock arms.

Do you have some sort of aftermarket shackle welded to the radius rod to have the non stock axle location?

Kurt, Thanks for the reply, I don't own a green book, wish I did. I'm trying to use all orig. stuff as much as I can, the mounts on the radius rods are front spring ends off an old broken main leaf.

Your radius rods are to long Mod.As are shorter than 32s and so forth. Center your axle under your spring and measure the distance from center of ball to center of perch pins.Try a 32 it should work. I couldn't afford one so I cut a 34 and welded on a model A rear spreader with the ball that will clear the oil pan. Hope this helps.
PS YOU NEED A SHORTER WISH BONE.

See my project channeled 27 roadster
I am looking for a 26 27 roadster deck lid

One of two things. You can either make a brkt off the mount for your spring or the easier way would be to use rear shock arm which are usually 7-8" long. These also bolt on to your shock like they are now. Let me know if you need some arms.

Here are the shock arms and their dimensions from the Ford parts book. If these arms are forgings I don't see why you could not weld two of them together if there is not a factory arm long enough to do what you want.

Flathead Fever, thanks I think you're right I'm going to have to either weld something together or just try to build a mount that will work with what I have. I was trying to avoid cutting up the perches to do that though.
