shimmy when braking

My 29 Tudor has developed a bad shimmy when I apply the
brakes! I thought it was might be the front brakes but
after working on them it still does it. About 2 years ago
I installed Teds floater kit and cast iron drums but had no problems till recently.
I am looking for suggestions as to what can cause this?
It does it even at a slow speed and does not pull left or right,
the whole car just shakes.
I am thinking maybe the front raduis rods ball is worn too much
it has the after market type kit (rubber ball type).
Any ideas will be much appreciated

Does it shimmy at other times?? Sometimes the rubber ball will disintegrate from oil getting on it, worthwhile to ck that first. JMO

I had the same problem with my A, mostly on braking, .
turned out to be the left front tyre was not seated correctly on the rim,it was stuck under the tube flat thing in one place.

If you can't determine where the shake is coming from and all the front end parts are tight and correct,, then,, it could very well be the radius ball.. It shouldn't take much to crawl under the monster and give it a shake..

Make sure the steering arms are tight in the spindles, also any looseness of the perches in the axle will lead to extreme shaking of the front end.

a friend told me after a complete front end rebuild and then a complete disassembly and close inspection he happened to notice one of the grease zerks was too long and obstructed the spring on one of the tie rod ends. Bob
