Shift Lever

I ran into an older gent over the weekend and he told me about a feature that I did not hear of before. He said that, after shifting into third on a '28 Model A, one can raise the shift lever and move it up and out of the way. The idea is that it gave the middle passenger more room for his legs. Anyone else hear of this???

Yes, but you don't want to do it when you are driving, only when you are "parking". In reality it is easier to get out and use the front fender.

Why do you say that, --or in other words, what does it hurt?

 Next question, is your reference of "parking" the same definition that I had on my mind back when I was 16 and had a girl in the car with me? :D

My only vehicle from the time I was 15 in the early 60's up to the 70's was my 29 pickup. Sometimes you park the truck and sometimes you go parking and its a pretty small cab. To answer your question, the hurt is, as I remember it, your limbs cramp up.
