Session timeout

I'm finding the logged in session often times out and logs me out before I can finish editing a post. I have several times lost the content of my post, to the point where I'm starting to save the post to the desktop so I won't lose it.

Is there a way to adjust the time out duration? I looked in the options, but didn't see anything like that. I understand the need to minimize the bandwidth, but this feature is becoming a nuisance. Maybe I'm just slow. :p

Are you logging in each time you get on Fordbarn or do you have the remember me box checked? I don't recall being logged out or timed out while working on a posting, I have the remember me box checked. If it's a really long post, it might be best to write it up in your office program then cut and paste it here. That would also give time to edit it before posting. I am on dial up and this has been sitting here open for about 6 min's. I think most time out come when the computer is open to a site with no transmission of data. Like when you log onto a bank site there is often a warning that the site will log off in X amount of min's if there is no activity. Up to 10 + min now.

If I get interrupted while preparing a response (and am not sure when I will come back to it) I generally highlight and copy what I have done before I leave the computer. Cheap insurance. I have been logged out a couple of times due to very long inactivity. I also frequently do long responses in Microsoft word and copy/paste them into the response.
