Serial Number on frame

Friends are down to frame and are looking for serial number looked
on left frame rail under cowl left door area & after carefull sanding cannot
see any sign of number. A Canadian built car,chance it might be some other
place.A motor replaced with B.

Oh boy! I heard somewhere that Canadian frames weren't stamped and they were only identified by the original engine number.

The number on a June '29 I have has the number 12 inches farther back and running off the edge before it's finished. Must have been a hangover Monday.

I have 2 Canadian frames, an early 28, and mid 30. Neither have a number stamped on the frame.
