Serial and production codes

I recently became the owner of a 1953 Customline that is virtually untouched as far as customizing and restoring goes. It was a great find and it is still in driving order! I've been trying to figure out how to read the serial and production codes but haven't been very successful online. All I've been able to find is the first four characters of the serial number. Can anyone help me with the production codes? Here's the codes off the door sidewall:

Serial# A3LG-108248

I was able to find A= 6cyl. 215 OHV, 3= 1953, L= Long Beach Plant, and G= Customline. With the 6 digit number being the production number?

Production code: 72B K F 16A-LP109

This one I have no clue how to read...

FoMoCo put this information in the Chassis Parts Catalogs in that time frame. The 72B model number was a Customline Club Coupe. The K was the exterior paint color sandpiper tan. The F is the interior trim scheme red & black leather. The 16A was the date code 16 January 1953. The LP109 is a production figure for daily production at the Long Beach plant but that's all I know there. I don't know for sure what the 109 number means. It could have been the linear number for production so far that day for all I know.

That trim scheme seems kind of odd. In 1952 the same code "F" was for Two Tone Tan Bedford Cord. That seems to me to be a color combo that would coordinate with the Sandpiper Tan exterior. If it was a special order car then who knows what might have been put together. The "E" code in 1953 was Two Tone Tan Check Crossweave and that would have matched better.

Thanks Kerby!

Red & black does seem like an odd color scheme, but strangely unique at the same time. the guy I bought the car off of said all he knew about it was that it went through a cosmetic restoration in the mid 80's which is where it got it's orange/red paint, and all white interior.

I appreciate the help!
