sep plates- polishing?

To polish - a buffing wheel on a bench grinder does wonders. just wear an apron and face shield and keep it moving.

I like the idea of step plates - you wouldn't believe how many AA running boards have the tops of the diamonds worn off from shoes! Id much rather attempt to wear out a step plate than have to weld up and grind down/shape 30 diamonds...
 
I believe 1936 was the first year for Phillips Head screws. It was also the
first year for yellow tinted fog/driving light lenses.;)
