Sending Unit/Digital Guages

Morning guys. Hey I've got a 41 coupe basically stock with the exception of 12v conversion and a Dakota Digital guage set. My problem is that I can't get the fuel guage correct. Does anyone know the ohms setting I need to use for this setup? I'm trying to avoid dropping the tank which is basically my last option at this point.

Thank You

If your tank sending is truely stock it is NOT a resistance type. You will need to change it to an aftermarket resistance type to get the digital gauge to work.

Is there any way to tell? I've gotten alot of different readings going through the preset options if that means anything.

You will read around 96 ohms on a stock sender. All that really tells you is the heater wire in the sender is not open. With out getting to deep here the stock use a current pulse instead of resistance. The stock gauge can be made to work with a resistance sender such as the one that the old Ford parts vendors sell. The resistance value on that one is 10 Ohms Full and 85 Ohms empty. Will those values with with your digital unit?
