WHAT KIND IS BEST, ZENITH OR TILLISTON CARB. AND SHOULD I PURCHASE NEW OR REBUILT? ALSO, WHO HAS BEST CARBS AND WHAT KIND.? THIS SEEMS LIKE A GOOD TIME TO GET SOMETHING DONE UP RIGHT OR NEW. i NEED INFOR. PLEASE ON WHO,WHAT,WHERE SHOULD i GO? THANKS AS ALWAYS/JOSH

really the best advice i have for you, is to try a couple different ones. EVERYONE has their own opinion on which carb they like the best. not everyone will be the same. Personally i like the weber 2 barrel if you have money to spend, then next in line is the new production zeniths that come off of forklifts. I havent had a problem with either one of them with the exception of having to clean them out because trash got in them. But thats just my opinion, someone else will chime in with theres. If i had to pick between either an original zenith, or a tillitson. i would pick the tillie just because of personal experience.

i was thinking the zenith because tills have a tendancy to warp after a time don't they/? Then u have to file flat and hope things work out.josh

The Tilly is a much simpler design than the Zenith. It does not require precision flow testing of several jets to work correctly like the Zenith does. The Tilly is very easy to restore to operate properly.

Any properly restored carb will work fine. Send out what you already have to be rebuilt to anyone on the list in the sticky section of this forum.

I am going to make a recommendation on fellow Fordbarner Jim Adams for rebuilding, --or supplying you a rebuilt carburetor. I use his carburetors on cars that come out of my shop. Give him a PM and see what he can offer.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL THE SUGGESTIONS AND LIFELINES TO RESTORE, i REALLY APPRECIATE IT. TODAY I BOUGHT A GALLON OF CARB CLEANER. IT COMESWITH A BASKET, SOAKED THE TILLY AND CKD ALL PARTS AND JETS ASSEMBLED TILLY AND READY TOMORROW FOR THE BIG TEST. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN/ JOSH
