Seeking IFS for 46 Ford Pickup

Would anyone have a natural fit suggestion to convert factory front axle and drum to IFS and disc, please? Manufacturer, details, etc.

Is the reason for converting to IFS for ride? Lowering? Why not go with a reversed eye main leaf and/or a dropped axle with updated brakes, discs or later model F100?

I am in the middle of putting a Heidt's IFS with power rack & pinion steering on a 55 Chevy pickup. It is a well built kit, fits nice, and has good instructions. You can also find online articles with pictures and instructions for installing it. Beware that the kit with the stock height spindles will lower your truck by 3 - 4 inches. So the "dropped" spindles will lower it a lot more. You can talk to the Heidt's people direct and get a lot of help. The lowest price I could find (not cheap) was Tims Hot Rods - he's on Ebay. There are lot's of other manufacturer's out there - Fatman, Total Cost Involved, Chassis Engineering, etc. Do your homework before buying anything like this.

Installing a Fat-Man front end under my 46, so far so good. Installs easily, BUT...measure...measure...measure.
It lowers the truck app. 6".
