Seeking advice

Haven't posted for several months. My brother-in-law passed recently, and he left a 1929 Durant. My sister will need to sell it. Any suggestions, such as a site for that kind of car? Thanks in advance.

Trying to find enthusiasts for the more obscure orphans can be tough. I hate to recommend ebay, because of the lurking street rodders looking for a sacrificial lamb. I'm not sure of any other good options. Not trying to be a smarty pants, but does anybody read Hemmings anymore? The last time I perused the pages, it was mostly overpriced dealers. I'd love to hear different. I remember when it was the size of a phone book in a two house town.

sorry for your loss, might you have any pictures of this car you can post? I'm sure we would all love to see it. Thank you.

I do not have pictures of this car. When my sister gets to the point of selling it, I will try to photograph it and post them.
Thank you everyone for your kindness. Everyone on this site has always been very helpful and kind to me.

This is quite a stretch so take this advise for what it's worth to you.
Didn't Durant morph into Pontiac? The NADA guide for 1929 Pontiac lists a 4 door sedan at $5800 (low) $9800 (medium) and $14000 (high)
The same NADA has 1929 Ford 4 door $9000, $12000, $18000 respectively. Seems that the rarity of Pontiac (and Durant) make it worth less than a similar Model A.
My guess is unless your grampa had one, not many people are looking for a Durant.

The condition of the car will have alot to do with the price too,as you may already know.

Didn't Durant morph into Pontiac?

Nope. Durant was founded by Billy Durant after he was fired as head of GM. It was built 1921 - 1932 with a suspension of production in 1926 - 1927. Pontiac was introduced in 1926 by GM as a companion to its Oakland make. Oakland was founded as an independent car maker in 1907, absorbed another independent named Pontiac in 1908, and was bought out by Durant in 1909 when he was head of GM. The later Pontiac shared the name with the earlier one but otherwise was unrelated. Pontiac sales eclipsed those of Oakland and the latter make was dropped in 1932.

There is a Durant club with an online forum - you might get some help there (I assume it's OK to post the link since it doesn't compete with Ford Barn):

There's lots of Durant info at http://www.durantcars.com/

There are a couple of online classified sites - I've never used them but they seem to have a lot of listings/activity:
