Hi all. I am about to rebuild my steering gear box for my 33 ford coupe. I’ve been looking high and low for a sector gear. Part B-3575-B. I’ve also seen it listed as 40-3575. It seems that all sources are sold out. I ran across a nos part made by Balkamp. Part # B-3575BK The box says it’s for 32-34 ford. Does anyone have any knowledge pertaining to this part #.

What ratio is your worm gear? First 10k or so of 1933s were 13:1, after that the rest of '33 and all '34 were 15:1 ratio. If it's an aftermarket sector it will have a 13 or 15 stamped on the end. Looking at some others that have a prefix of "B" and end in "B", those are 15:1 ratio. Can you post a pic of your old sector, the end view to see tooth pattern.

I believe there could be 2 different ratios for that steering box so you need to make sure you get the sector that goes with worm gear you have. The worm can be removed and replaced with a correct one if you are unable to find a match. Make sure you have the correct parts that fit each other. There should be a number on the worm that will determine the ratio. This is covered in the "Green Bible".

I won’t know for sure until I tear it apart. My plan is to make it 15:1. I have found all of the parts except the sector. The car is a late 33 so there’s a good chance it’s 15:1. I’ll have the vendor look for the stamp. Good idea. Thanks

15 to 1 is a lot more pleasant to drive, I suggest you switch it over while you're in there.
Probably easier to get too. Nice lookin car, more pics?
