Seatbelts

What is the best way to install front seat belts on a 31 slant without going through the seat frame? I want to keep it moveable.

P.S. featured a slant-window with seatbelts for sale on his channel about three years ago and owns one himself, you might have luck asking him directly.

On mine they go between the seat back and the seat bottom, and fasten through the floor pan. I will be modifing mine so that there is a reinforcing strap under the floor pan that picks up the mounting bolts, spreads the load across more sheet metal.

Sounds like what I did with my Coupe. This is the reinforcing for the inner anchors:

I went through the lower back seat to the floor and put a solid bar on the bottom side for support. If they are fastened to the seat they will pull out the seat in a accident. The S/W is hard to put seat belts in but I feel comfortable with what I did. You need to stay in the car in an accident and there's a lot of metal in a Model A.

I also used the bar stock underneath the car. Not a problem for the backseat but had to go through the front seat frame for the front bench seat rendering it unmovable. Other option is to go through the back of the front seat frame pan and fabric and with the bar stock exposed. Could jazz it up using chrome bolts.

I am not visualizing what you have, but any reinforcing has to be on the backside to distribute the forces over more car sheet metal to reduce the metal tearing in a crash.

I added reinforcement strips to the frame cross-piece under the back of the seats and bolted the belts to it. The belts easily disappear into the gap between the seat back and bottom. That piece of reinforcement gives a lot of piece of mind.
