Seat height

On the 56 I recently bought, the front seat seems to be really low.
I wonder how the Ford dealers at the time did seat height adjustments?
Th info may be in the shop manual, but I haven't recieved mine yet.
Any ideas?
Thanks

If it has old foam in the seat cushion that could be part of the problem. Foam crumbs on the floor under the seat are a clue.
With longer bolts and a wide something for spacers it should be easy to raise up a bit if you need to.

you could use pipe nipples with a fender washer on the floor so it covers more area and doesn't poke through the floor or get a flange that fits the pipe

Lowes or Home Depot for what Frank is talking about see below.

Rather than pipe nipples standing on end, I'd be more inclined to try making temporary spacers out of some short strips of 3/4" x 2" lumber (lengthwise under the seat track & painted black) with a hole for the seat frame bolt drilled thru it.
If 3/4" isn't enough height try some 4 to 6 inch lengths of 2x4, laid flat with a hole for the seat bolt.
Spreading the stress & weight out with larger spacers like these will help keep the longer seat bolts from folding over in case of hard cornering or an accident. Don't forget to use large thick washers under the floor too.

This is what I did to my 54 Ford. 1 X 1 1/2 aluminum bar. Raised the seat up 1 inch, wanted the 1 1/2 to spread the load as the stock width was about the same

The 54 Vicky I had years ago had a stock seat in very poor condition. I bought a very nice seat out of a mid sized Olds, and mounted it on 2x4 wood spacers to get it up out of the basement. Longer bolts was the major expense.
