Seat bolts

I am installing the front seat after 4 years. There is a bolt on each side midway between the door and the driveshaft tunnel. It is a third of the way under the seat from the rear and threads into a 5/16 Nut.
Any idea what it’s purpose is?

Caged nut on the sheet metal (floor) or on the frame?

If it's on the frame, it's a body to frame mount.

i removed the front seat on my '41 just the other day. there were four bolts and nuts; one near each of the four corners of the seat frame. i suspect the arrangement nay not be original, as i suspect the original arrangement would have involved captured nuts in the floorboards. :)

Just checked, body bolt. Make sure you have everything under the dash sorted before installing the seat… you’ll be glad you did.

I feel like a dummy. Got under the car and the bolts in question are in deed body bolts to frame. Did get the dash items done while I was using the milk crate as a seat!

Thanks
