Sealing a spray can paint job

I just painted my 28 Leatherback with Rustoleum 2X rattle cans. The result was too blotchy so i wet sanded it to a smooth finish...but semi-mat finish. What should i seal the paint on the cowl so that even minor gasoline spills dont take off the paint? Rustoleum customer service has no recommendation. Should I be concerned and should i consider a urethane? What's the recommended wax polish to add some shine?
 
Paint a ‘test panel’ with more Rustoleum and then (after taping it off), try spraying with different Clear Coat Manufacturers product to see which one(s) do NOT react with the base coat. Likewise with the wax - then apply fuel with a rag/sponge?
