Has anyone out there seen any of these? The back side of the sealed beam is metal not glass. These came off my 34 pickup they were a sealed beam conversion. I know for a fact that they have been on the truck since 1956, how much before I don't know.
Gary.

Don't know for sure about all the other manufacturers (and there were lots), but the Guide division of General Motors used the steel back design from 1940, when sealed beams were first introduced, until about 1955 when the all glass version came into being.

I think there were three manufactures of this basic design back in those days.
Chrysler had theirs supplied by Coracon (sp?).
Authentic Ford script bulbs were also metal backed, three piece "units".
