Don't know where else to ask:confused:...
Can anyone post a pic/info on what magneto model number to look for , for a ford B banger engine. Or any pic/model # of any magneto that you use with model A/B engine? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
 
You can buy any of the Vertex mags for a four cylinder engine with the correct rotation to match the model A distributor (counterclock wise i think ?).
Then we can machine up a new base for your model A engine. Makes it a little cheaper to do for sure.;)
 
Old thread, but i answer if some body search for this info.
Scintilla Vertex Type NV4 Magneto, that would fit quite easy to 4 Banger.

I´m going to use one of these, coming from top off the old water pump used by fire department.
 
A few years back,I was at a swap meet in England when I spotted a Vertex mag.It looked like it would fit my B engine .It still worked so I bought it for the equivalent of $35. Unfortunatly the cap broke in transit so I am still in need of one.The mag fit the B just fine.---Cap says*Vertex Scintilla British made CP62010* Data plate*Scintilla Ltd NV4R 480-1960-13*.

THANK you guys...old thread questions never die:D, just takes awhile to bubble to the top, eh !
Well, I found out that I can have a brand new Joe Hunt type mag built for a four banger...for bout a grand:eek:
I just see some great banger engines with great looking mags and have been informed that the vertex scintilla are the best for the job. On the hunt for one for a long time now.
