Original A's can be registered as LHD's. Transporting an A to Australia from USA costs about $3500AUD. There are companies in Australia that can be contacted, and they know what forms to fill out, customs clearances etc. For a one of import, I would recommend one of these companies. There is a market in Australia at the moment, anything from the US sells, not just A's. The strong AUD-USD, it's floating around parity at the moment, gives us Aussies excellent spending power in the US. Phaetons probably won't sell very well in Australia though. They were the most common body style here, around 8:1 compared to all other body styles combined. The big sellers are tudors and coupes, this market is driven by the rodders. A good desert tudor body will sell for around $6500AUD and a complete car requiring restoration sells for around $12000AUD. Some try to put a high price on their imports, but soon realise that they don't sell, I've seen some unrestored import coupes advertised for $25000AUD but they were still on the market after 2 years.
