On my 1926 model t the previous owner cut down the windshield. How can I tell if it’s safety Or tempered glass.
Thanks
Jerry

You could tap on it lightly and listen for a muffled clink due to the plastic in the middle of safty glass.

The car I just bought I was worried about it too, was going to put clear tint film on, was cleaning some and found the marks,-- "as1", and can see the edge ,2layers of glass with plastic in center , I have safely glass in the 17 I just got

Take it to a local glass shop (not franchise) and have them check it.

The State Policeman in charge of inspections, a sergeant, for this area of Virginia told me that the windshield on my speedster was not safety glass. I took it to a local glass shop for replacement, they took a quick look and told me that what I had was safety glass.

You definitely want safety glass!

Hold a burning match or lighter next to the glass. Reflection of one flame is single pane glass and a reflection of two flames is double pane glass.

I have tried that lighter thing next to the thick plate glass used in the early cars like T's, and saw two reflections. The only two self tests I would trust; edge delamanaton (bubbles between the two) and looking at the raw edges.
