I need to install safety glass in my pick up
Am I better off with my local glass shop or from a Model A Parts supplier ?
I'm sure they (oarts houses) are all using the same supplier - is it worth the added freight charges / possible shipping damage
Looking for experiences
Thanks
Scott

if you have the original glass that can be used as patterns , ive found local glass shops are cheaper, you will need to take the glass to them so they can give you a price, check as many as you can, the priced difference will suprise you

Make sure your glass hasn't already been changed. You can check it by looking at the top of the door glass to see if a seam is apparent. For the back glass I use a flashlight. When I shine it on the glass, if I see a double reflection, that tells me it is safety glass. This works for the doors too, of course. But there is a possibility that it is tempered glass, in which case it will not give you a double reflection.

Vintage Glass USA in Connecticut has all the original glass patterns for old cars, and will cut, finish, and ship by ups right to your door. I have used them for years, with excellent results.

A guy in our club had glass shipped twice and it arrived broken both times. Now, most of the guys use Harmon glass, a local company, and have been satisfied. I had Harmon cut the glass for the 1930 AA, then I installed it.

I've found that a local glass shop is probably your best bet. There are patterns/measurements in the service bulletins if you can't supply your old windows.

Normally, I'd suggest local-no risk of breakage, no hassle with returns if it's wrong, and I like supporting my local economy. However, if you want the correct "Logo" that Henry put on your glass, you'll have to order it form some place like Mac's.

If you have glass done by a local shop ask that they not put the safety glass markings on it. One of the things done unless you ask them not to. Not the same as the original Logo.
