The '51 Victoria was Fords very first Hardtop model. it would be considered a RARE classic today. What a shame.
It reminds me of a salvage yard I have frequently visited since the early 1970's. Dans Used cars in Mascoutah, Illinois. He had hundreds of cars from 1940's, & '50s. In that case, the town built a low-income housing complex right next door to the salvage yard which is located at the east edge of town. The city forced him to build a 2-story high fence to block out the view of the salvage yard. I'm sure it costed several years worth of what he would have earned from selling parts off the old cars. To recoup some of the losses from the fence project, he elected to send many of them to the crusher.
There was a complete 55 Ford station wagon there he wouldn't let anybody touch for DECADES that ended up in one of the piles that went to the crusher with not one single part removed from it. As I recall, Dan was kind of sick over the whole thing, but what's a guy to do.
Dan always had reasonable prices.
As far as Iknow, the closest salvage yard that has a bunch of old Ford's is Johns salvage in Cabool, Missouri, and he sells everything like it is gold. Needless to say, I don't see them very often due to the long drive down and the high prices for their junk.
