our model A meeting - last night, I ask about this roof molding and how it is installed and what it takes to install it. Guess's. many opinions.
Is it vertical and nailed or flat?
My roof had the hide um which I now is not correct. Maybe a close up photo or drawing will be the answer, during installation. not a lot of photos around for this part and or S/W. A-38465 page 104 in Bert's book, 60" pieces

pattern on the running boards pyramid or diamond? for a 31 fordr s/w
thanks to all.

Can't believe that I have the only 1931 s/w on the planet and no body has ever replaced the roof. so be it.
Was it in the question, to complex?
Did I not make myself clear? what did miss?

From my memory hidem is correct. I had a 32 Chevy sedan and those had a metal molding that covered the nails, I have never seen anything but hidem on an a.
When we did our two slants we used a black hidem and one was an original unrestored car that was only 34 years old at the time
Brent could confirm or correct me if I'm wrong

All: Richard did contact me, but I misunderstood his question and thought he needed photos of the properly installed roof molding: what he needs are sketches, drawings or pictures of the actual installation process. I suggested he contact Brent Terry, but possibly there are other sources..... Anyone have ideas for Richard??

Richard, I also have a 31 s/w town sedan I'm not that far in my restoration, but also working on a 28 special coupe. Besides my full time job, not retired.

I've seen in the vendors' catalogues a video put out by a club in Calif. It covers the entire process of installing the alum. molding, rubber insert, including installing a masonite type panel instead of chicken wire, etc.
